Fun. Inclusive. Challenging.

Those are the words EC teacher Rachel Gigliotti used to describe her teaching style.

Before coming to Riverside this fall Gigliotti, who goes by “Miss G,” taught at Hillside. Moving over to Riverside made total sense for her.

“Actually, I live close by,” she said. “I have a daughter that’s supposed to come here, and this is my second school with DPS. I’ve worked at Hillside, so I’m a fan of both schools, and I think Riverside is pretty cool. I like pirates, too.”

Deciding to teach was a simple choice for her because of the focus on the students.

“I love the youth,” Ms. Gigliotti said. “You guys are gonna be the future. You guys are gonna take care of us as we get older and age, and you guys deserve the best. So, I’m happy to be here.”

Her first few weeks on campus have gone really well.

“I’m very excited to be here,” she said. “The kids that I’m teaching are really cool. I’m impressed by how much y’all, this age, seems to care. It energizes me every day.”
