RHS administration focuses on attendance, punctuality in 2026-27

This fall, Riverside’s school leadership team didn’t make many changes to rules and instead is focusing on improving certain policies.
“We’ve moved our breakfast from the lunchroom to the front of the building,” said assistant principal Kwame Stith. “That way, students can kind of pick it up as they come in the classroom, then they can go onto their advisory block.”
Teachers also have more resources to share with students during homeroom.
“This school year, we were given a guide for each week on what to show, [in] presentations for each advisory,” said science teacher Edyln Osorio. “We also have Character Strong, so the school and the councillors have provided presentations that we will be showing every day to students.”
Character strong is a new social emotional learning curriculum that the school introduced to communicate with the students.
Stith also said that Riverside expects to reduce the number of lockdowns through better communication.
“We have a better communication system with the district as well as other schools, and we have our officers as well,” said Stith. “We’ve been trying to do assemblies to try to communicate with students to see something, say something.”
