
Senior Sydney Pearce has led the Lady Pirates on the volleyball court this fall.
Pearce is an outside hitter who transferred from Durham School Of the Arts her sophomore year.
Pearce has played volleyball since she was fourteen on her school team. Later getting into Traingle Volleyball Club when she was fifteen and is currently playing her last season with them.
Pearce says that she got her desire to play volleyball from her sister, Tori, and aluminize player for Virginia Commonwealth University. “ She’s been a huge influence her in my life and I honestly don’t know what I would do without her “ Pearce says.
She loves the support she gets from Tori watching her play, along with her supporting parents and friends.
Throughout this Season, she has like the team and kills, hitting percentage and aces.
“Having Sydney on the outside of miles us to always have someone we know who can put the ball down” said teammate Camryn Atkinson. “Pearce is a confident, charismatic, and explosive player on this team” Said Michael Hodge, head volleyball coach
Being the captain on the team, peers has to be strong, confident, and leading role for her teammates.
“Syd Will need to man the position as captain in every phase of the game” said Hodge.
The lady pirates are mid way through their season with a 8-10-0 overall.
Pearce wants to commit one day to a Division III university for volleyball, but it still undecided.
