Seniors now allowed to bring pets to school

In an effort to combat Senioritis, Riverside admin announced in the March 31 weekly phone call and email that staring Tuesday, seniors are now allowed to bring pets to school. Despite the concerns of the district, Riverside is passionate about making this accommodation for seniors.

Sor far, the news is well-received.

“Let’s go, I’m able to bring my pet snake to school,” said Tad Pohl. “He’s a black mamba.”

Recent studies have shown that having animals in an academic environment reduces stress and promotes productivity. Riverside hopes that this new rule will help seniors finish the year strong.

“I am so glad I am able to bring my rottweiler, Cupcake, to school tomorrow,” said Peg Legge. “He’s super nice, I think he will get along with my friend’s yorkie.”

Not all students believe this new rule is all good though.

“I just hope my dog doesn’t drink the toilet water,” said Anne E. Mal.
