Nothing is more entertaining than something free. Fortnite, the free battle royale game, has now taken the gaming world by storm.
Fortnite is a battle royale video game in which 100 players jump out of a flying bus. In a battle royale game, there are 100 people who jump onto an abandoned island. They search for supplies and try to be the last man standing to win.
Players can go in as a team, duo, or solo lobby. The last man, duo, or team standing wins. It came out on July 25, 2017, but the battle royale game that is now popular with the gaming community didn’t come out until Sept. 26, 2017.
Fortnite battle royale has gotten popular by introducing a feature that no other battle royale game has ever had, building. It’s free to download but only has the battle royale game mode. Fortnite can be downloaded on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
Some people play it just to pass time and have fun.
“It’s a good way to spend time, and it’s very fun,” said sophomore Donnell Blowe Jr.
Students can play alone or with friends. Sophomore Zean Dy-Cok enjoys playing Fortnite on a team.
”It has a lot of stuff, it’s very skill based and it’s more fun with friends,” Dy-Cok said. “I play whenever I have time. I play a lot, I try to make time for school and Fortnite.”
Fortnite is very skill based with the building feature it has.
The building feature provides the ability to build cover when you’re getting shot.
“One thing is that you can build covers and destroy covers in fortnite.” said Dy-Cok. “Fortnite is kid friendly, they also paid attention to detail. Fortnite is really colorful and has really good graphics.”
While this game has become one of the most popular video games on the market, students like Dy-Cok see some issues with how the game functions.
“It’s a really good game overall but it has some glitches that could be fixed.The fact that you can build its the most useful feature in Fortnite,” said Dy-Cok.
